The foundation was established in July 2021 in memory of Ryan Connell – a remarkable young man who we lost in March 2021 after a short period of mental illness.
Ryan was a popular, kind and caring guy who was loved by his many friends and family. He loved his football – playing, coaching and supporting and enjoyed travel having spent almost 2 years touring and working in South East Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
Professionally Ryan graduated in business finance at Glasgow Caledonian University and went on to work as a Project Manager with Hewlett Packard in Glasgow pre-travel and with V Shipping also in Glasgow when he returned from his travels. It is in Ryan’s memory that the foundation was established to help others in need and make a difference where we can.
The aim of the foundation is to financially support those who are struggling in life for whatever reason.
We have already donated to existing charities and have also provided funding directly for one-off specific needs. The foundation was established to support local causes in and around Glasgow and will continue to fund raise via Just Giving.
The financial records are maintained by Ryan’s parents – George and Shirley – and are subject to regular financial review.
Who has benefitted...
In the short time the charity has been in operation, we have managed to support many organisations. The following have received direct donations from the foundation and we look forward to working with them in future:
